Education | I got both my degrees -- Bachelors (1968) and Masters (1978) -- at the University of Arizona.
Professional Life | I taught school for a couple of years in New Mexico and Mississippi. Then I got my degree in Library Science and have been a librarian at the University of Arizona for the past 26 years. I met my husband in the library, so it has been rewarding. Being a university librarian has been fun and challenging, everything is done on computers now -- but I'm ready to retire.
Family Life | My husband, Robert Mitchell, and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary next May. We don't have any kids, but we are a great aunt and uncle to many nieces and nephews. We are also excellent parents to our dog, Trina, and cat, Reggie.
Hobbies & Interests | We are scuba divers. We've been diving for the past 12 years in many islands of the Caribbean and in Indonesia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands. We also obviously love traveling. I am a gardener and have a front yard full of wild flowers every year in the mild Arizona winter and spring. I also read mysteries, do yoga and watch old movies.
Retirement Plans | We hope to retire in a year or two. We don't have any plans -- just relaxing and doing all the things we can't do cause we work. We want to continue going on one exotic dive trip a year and also traveling to visit family and friends. I think I would like to volunteer in schools.
