Vicki Mills
EducationI got both my degrees -- Bachelors (1968) and Masters (1978) -- at the University of Arizona.
Professional LifeI taught school for a couple of years in New Mexico and Mississippi. Then I got my degree in Library Science and have been a librarian at the University of Arizona for the past 26 years. I met my husband in the library, so it has been rewarding. Being a university librarian has been fun and challenging, everything is done on computers now -- but I'm ready to retire.
Family LifeMy husband, Robert Mitchell, and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary next May. We don't have any kids, but we are a great aunt and uncle to many nieces and nephews. We are also excellent parents to our dog, Trina, and cat, Reggie.
Hobbies & InterestsWe are scuba divers. We've been diving for the past 12 years in many islands of the Caribbean and in Indonesia, Fiji and the Solomon Islands. We also obviously love traveling. I am a gardener and have a front yard full of wild flowers every year in the mild Arizona winter and spring. I also read mysteries, do yoga and watch old movies.
Retirement PlansWe hope to retire in a year or two. We don't have any plans -- just relaxing and doing all the things we can't do cause we work. We want to continue going on one exotic dive trip a year and also traveling to visit family and friends. I think I would like to volunteer in schools.
